Read every line before you run it.

This is exactly what git clone gives you: 42 files and 12,318 lines (not counting Cargo.lock). The default build downloads nothing but its Rust crates; only the optional local-embeddings feature also fetches ONNX Runtime and a model. How it fits together

One binary, a folder of markdown, an index you can delete.

How Mega Mind fits together Agents call the mind CLI through the skill and hooks. The CLI writes entries as markdown in a git repository and keeps a SQLite search index. The index gets its vectors from an embedding model: local, on Azure, or any OpenAI-compatible service. The optional librarian (LM Studio, Azure or OpenAI-compatible) reviews stale entries. vectors reviews Your agents Claude Code · CodexGrok · Copilot skill + hooks mind CLIsearch · record · stale commands/ · hooks.rs Entriesmarkdown in git · store/ Search indexSQLite FTS5 + vectors Librarianoptional · reviews stale entries LM Studio · Azure · OpenAI Embeddingsmeaning for search local · Azure · OpenAI

What's new

0.5.4 (2026-11-04)

  • mind search --brief: one line per result (match, kind, project, id, title), the same in a terminal and piped. Agents were cutting the full output with head and missing the result that mattered most (in one case, a cross-project decision their task reversed, in fifth place).
  • The skill and the always-on rule say to scan with --brief, read every result, never cut search output with head, and tell the user when a task changes something an entry records. They also say to read entries with mind get, not --raw (editing only): agents reading the raw markdown missed whether its code changed, "may contradict" warnings and the related entries.
